Hello from San Diego,
Hope to find some good information here on this forumn. I'm into both metal and wood projects. I've restored and use old vintage belt driven machines that I picked up along the way from Craigslist that where rusty crusties and are now as good as new. On the metal side of the house I've restored a 1940 Atlas 10" lathe, along with a 1983 King Miller Drill/Mill, got a Mini Sherline 4000 along the journey. For the wood projects I've restored a number of old Shopsmiths and have kept two 1947 vintage Shopsmith 10E's. I initialy acquired them to do a major flooring project at my home which involved 1,600 square feet of salvaged gymnasium 1" thick maple flooring where I used these multipurpose tools setup as table saws. While doing the flooring job I set aside a number of pieces that have the nice birdseyes for future lathe / bandsaw projects. Funny how getting the old Shopsmiths sparked my interest in rediscovering metal working as well.
So anyway looks like this forum is right up my alley and I hope to add to the content from time to time.
